My Birthday

I have to admit a great flaw that I have. I say that birthdays are no big deal. Who cares if no one does anything? It's just a day. Well, that's a great big fat lie. I say it, but I really don't mean it.

My birthday has come and gone. My daughter wrote me a sweet card that is hanging on my fridge. My boyfriend, the practical gift giver, gave me some gym clothes and new running shoes. But...after a big fight and lots of crying (that was me, if you couldn't guess), ironed my new (really we bought it in December) bedspread, dust ruffle and pillow shams. He changed all the bedding on my bed, cleaned our room and lit candles everywhere in our bedroom to surprise me when I got home. It was very sweet and I loved it!!!

But my friends, well, they take the cake. They got me a very thoughtful gift that I have in my office. I look at it often and read the card when I've had a bad day. In case you didn't see the "Thoughts on Student Teaching So Far..." entry, that's pretty often. Maybe eight out of seven days in the week. :) So, here's a huge thank-you to my girls---you know who you are---

ThAnK yOu!!!!
